Training and telephone consultancy for Advice Agencies
BLS has highly qualified staff who have specialist knowledge in particular areas of law, and they share this expertise with other voluntary organisations in the borough by delivering training sessions for their volunteers and staff.
This specialist training, specifically aimed at the local community groups, enables the staff and volunteers to advise their clients better and to make more effective referrals elsewhere (including to BLS) when relevant.
Telephone Consultancy Service
BLS caseworkers also provide a telephone consultancy service to staff and volunteers in Barnet advice agencies on issues concerning particular clients. This may take place while the client is present at the advice agency and it means that these clients can be helped appropriately, without delay and without the need for a further referral.
